What's Alien Crosstalk in Cat.6A Cabling?- Why Do You Need to Know?

Alien Crosstalk is a major concern in Cat.6a cabling.

Alien Crosstalk is a major concern in Cat.6a cabling. Alien crosstalk is the interference occurred by a pair of wires in one cable inducing noise into other pairs of wires in adjacent cables in cabling wiring. Cables that can suffer from noise coupling from other cables are identified as the Disturbed cable or (victims).

When running with a significant volume of cable management in cabling systems in data centers or commercial buildings, it is unavoidable to bundle the cables. In accordance with the TIA/EIA 568.2-D standard, category 6A is tested up to 500 MHz and required to reach 10G Base-T transmission speed. As higher bandwidth could arise worse AXT interference between cables, and get worse transmission signal.

What is Alien Crosstalk

How to prevent Alien Cross-Talk?

The ideal way to reduce Alien Cross-Talk is to reduce the length of the long-distance parallel network cable and deploy the cables in a random way, that is, don't go in excessive pursuit of tidy or pleasing cable arrangements in wiring. But high-density wiring means higher requirements for space utilization, so in limited space, using shielded cable may be a better choice. A shielded cable (U/FTP, F/UTP, SF/UTP, S/FTP) can block the alien cross talk efficiently, also helpful to set up a good network environment.
